First Assignment:
Fill in the table provided with all the new vocabulary we have had in class till now.To fill in the table, please follow the following steps:
Reasons for the logs:
· to keep a record of words you are learning in class. This record can be used for review.
· to practice using new words in context
· to build
vocabulary by identifying words in the same word family
Expectations: Enter new words from lessons or from texts that we
cover in class and as homework assignments.
Organization: the best way to organize words is by theme. That’s why it’s best to organize them by individual texts or class topics. We tend to remember words best when they have a semantic (meaning) connection.
*example: I learned this word in a lesson on reporting workplace accidents. I saw this work in an article entitled “___.”
